Chemistry is involved with BBQ because when the charcoal is burning, it forms phenolic compounds. One Phenolic compound that’s made is polyaromatic hydrocarbon, which is made when meat is cooking. Syringol and guaiacum play a big part in giving you that smoky aroma. Maliard is responsible for the delicious flavors of barbequed meats. Many PAH develop different PAH. So there are a lot of different chemicals affected and created through barbecuing

Chemical engineering uses math, physics, and chemistry/biology. Chemical engeniers work in large plants. Companies hire chemical engeniers to make the most and the best items that cost the least. To become a chemical engenier you have to have minimum a 4-year bachelor’s degree in chemical engenier along with chemistry, physics, math and computer work. Its suggested to have a license but not always required. Although you have to have technical skills; like analytical, math and interpersonal skills.
I would not like to have this job. It doesn’t sound like something id love. I personally think if you don’t love your job you’re not living right. Ive never been a fan of science. The math part wouldn’t be to much of a problem because math is a strength I have but even that would become quite boring after a while. I don’t like science enough to go and do it all day. A chemical engenier has to have a lot of skills that I personally don’t have so this wouldn’t be the job for me. |
